There’s no denying the new 2013 Ford Fusion is photogenic. One look at the design, then another look at the innovation that accompanies it, and you spot a package that is not only unique, but also stylish and sleek. It speaks to high fashion, eco-friendliness, global DNA and the future of technology. It also speaks to something that would be a blast to drive.
When it came to shooting photography of the Fusion, the question became, where? What location would also encompass those attributes? Turns out, it’s Brooklyn.

Staten Island is where the Fusion hit the open road. The Bronx epitomized a location to talk about the green Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid, thanks to the massive amount of parkland. Manhattan is the epicenter of what’s new and is also the pulse of trends on the East Coast, and the Fusion is leading the way with automotive trends of its own. And Queens is diverse, matching the One Ford philosophy of working together as a team, globally.
Brooklyn Bridge Park was the most public photo shoot, and the car temporarily took on celebrity status while parked, as both locals and tourists swarmed it and snapped photos of themselves with car. The Fusion also traveled through Midtown, visited the Unisphere and saw the Verrazano Bridge, among its many stops while cruising through the five boroughs of the Big Apple.
The Fusion offers two EcoBoost® engines, a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, answering the call of all fuel economy needs. In addition to powertrain options, driver assistance and convenience features run the gamut, including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with sensors that alert the driver to traffic in the blind spot, as well as active park assist, to help with identifying suitable parallel parking and steering into the proper position. It also features Adaptive Cruise Control, which combines traditional cruise control with abilities such as automatically adapting to the highway speed, as well as Lane Keeping System, which helps the driver avoid leaving a lane unintentionally.
It’s difficult to upstage the beauty and sights of New York City, but as you can see, the all-new Fusion holds its own in such high-profile company. It’s an entirely new idea of what a car can be.
