Ford Atlas Hits the Road

social.ford-8If you’re wondering where the Ford Atlas concept vehicle is these days, here are some shots from the road as the Atlas kicked off its summer tour in Cleveland. In the main rotunda of the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, the truck was in excellent company, parked next to a pristine 1907 Ford Model K. Side-by-side, the two vehicles visually covered more than a century of toughness and innovation.

The Ford Atlas concept was first revealed on January 15, 2013, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), where it garnered attention with its bold looks and innovations.

Ford wants to ensure that you do, and that’s why it’s offering complimentary driving instruction to owners of the new 2013-2014 Ford Focus ST and 2014 Ford Fiesta ST through the Octane Academy Driving Experience!

The driving program was inspired by “Octane Academy,” the competition TV series with pro drivers like Ken Block and Tanner Foust. On the show, amateur drivers compete for an opportunity to launch their own racing careers, with the pros putting them through the paces to determine a winner.

Woodward Dream Cruise

social.ford-6We love classic cars at Borgman, but who doesn’t? If you didn’t get a chance to go to the Woodward Dream Cruise, check out this article from Ford Social all about the recent Detroit event!

Stretching from Widetrack Road in Pontiac, Michigan all the way to Mustang Alley in Ferndale, tens of thousands of cars packed historic Woodward Avenue and the parking lots and side streets surrounding it. The annual Woodward Dream Cruise brought people from all over the world to relish the sights, smells and sounds of the car culture.

The air is filled with the pungent smell of grilled onions from hamburger stands, mixed with a variety of automotive aromas, and the sounds of engines drown out Motown music being played on the car radios.

Ford EcoBoost & Laser Weapons: Common Ground?!

social.ford-5Ford’s Ecoboost technology is a good reason to be excited. At Borgman Ford, we were surprised to find out that the powerful new technology has some common ground with Soviet laser weapons. Intrigued? Check out this article from Ford Social!

At first glance, the Ford EcoBoost® and laser weapons systems may not seem like they’d have anything in common. But look closer and things like consistent performance, mechanics and engineering rise to the surface. Look even closer and you’ll see Mike Kluzner. He’s an in-house software engineer with Ford, who says that he got his start designing laser weapon systems for the former Soviet Union, capable of disabling the navigation systems of enemy satellites.

Let’s take a second to break that down, as Greentopia is not a term many people encounter on a daily basis. Green is used in the environmental sense, not the color, and topia comes from the Greek word for place. So a Greentopia is a place where the environment is thriving.
